Ukrainian army gets three modifications of Leopard tanks

The Ukrainian army has adopted three modifications of Leopard tanks from Western partners.

“The Ministry of Defence has adopted new models of armored vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Gazeta.ru says with reference to the Telegram channel of the defense department.

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry clarified that these are Leopard 2A6, Leopard 2A5 and Leopard 1A5 tanks. The department noted that combat vehicles of these modifications are designed to break through fortified positions and destroy firing points. Leopards are also capable of quickly organizing defensive lines. Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov signed the orders for the adoption of Western equipment.

On October 17, it became known that Lithuania would undertake to repair Leopard tanks damaged in Ukraine. The Lithuanian Defence Ministry emphasized that the implementation of tasks of this kind will make it possible to provide ongoing assistance to Ukraine.
