Ukrainian businessman Kolomoisky no longer dollar billionaire
Ukrainian businessman Ihor Kolomoisky is no longer a billionaire after the nationalization of his oil companies Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta.
This follows from the data of the Ukrainian edition of Forbes magazine.
The assessment of Kolomoisky's assets went down from $1.9 billion to $850 million, while Forbes estimated his fortune at $1.8 billion in 2021 and raised the assessment to $1.9 billion before the Ukrainian conflict escalated.
The reason for the decrease is the decision to alienate Ukrnafta and Ukrtatnafta, which were under Kolomoisky’s control, into state ownership.
As Forbes reports, citing sources from the office of the Ukrainian president and the Servant of the People party, one of the reasons for nationalizing some of the businessman's assets is that he did not transfer funds to the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the first months of military operations.
