Ukrainian company to launch solid rocket fuel production in Denmark
Ukrainian defence firm FPRT has announced plans to initiate production of solid rocket fuel in Denmark, a strategic move aimed at bolstering the country’s contributions to regional defence capabilities.
The project is deemed critical for Denmark’s national defence and has been granted exemptions from certain regulatory requirements to ensure its timely execution, with production slated to commence on December 1, 2025, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The new facility, to be located near the military airbase in Vojens, will produce solid rocket fuel essential for the propulsion of Ukrainian-manufactured Flamingo cruise missiles, developed by Fire Point. These missiles, known formally as the FP-5, have garnered international attention for their 3,000-kilometre range and 1,150-kilogram warhead, positioning them as a formidable asset in Ukraine’s defence arsenal. The collaboration underscores Denmark’s growing role in supporting Ukraine’s defence industry amid ongoing regional security challenges.
The Danish Business Authority emphasized the project’s significance, noting that the expedited timeline reflects its importance to national and allied defence strategies. By establishing production in Denmark, FPRT aims to enhance the supply chain for critical missile components, reducing reliance on external sources and strengthening Ukraine’s capacity to sustain its long-range strike capabilities.
This development follows recent announcements by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who highlighted the Flamingo missile’s success and outlined plans for its mass production by early 2026. The Vojens facility is expected to play a pivotal role in scaling up production to meet these ambitious targets, further solidifying the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Denmark in countering regional threats.
