Ukrainian defence forces repulse almost 60 enemy attacks in a day Data

Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 55 Russian attacks in 4 directions on May 7.

As Ukrainska Pravda reports per the data of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Facebook, Russia launched 16 missile strikes, in particular on the cities of Kharkiv, Kherson, Nikolaev and Odesa districts on May 7.

“Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population, a multi-storey building, private houses and other civilian infrastructure are damaged,” the publication says.

The Russian side is concentrating its main efforts on the Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Maryinsky directions. Heavy fighting continues for the cities of Bakhmut and Marinka. In total, 55 Russian attacks were repulsed in the indicated sectors of the front over May 7.

In the Volyn and Polesye directions, no signs of the formation of Russian offensive groupings were found.

In the Seversky and Slobozhansky directions, Russia maintains a military presence in the regions bordering Ukraine. Over the past day, they launched air strikes on the areas of Zarechye, Leonivka and Kostobobrov settlements in the Chernihiv region and Glukhov in the Sumy region. Carried out mortar and artillery shelling of the Orlikovka, Timonovichi, Zarechye, Bleshnya, Zhelezny Most, Arkhipovka, Leonivka, Buchki settlements of the Chernihiv region; Staraya Guta, Seredina-Buda, Bachevsk, Ulanovo, Vorozhba, Iskriskovshchina and Novgorodskoye of the Sumy region, as well as Udy, Volchansk, Pletenevka, Bochkovo, Malaya Volchya, Nesternoye, Budarki and Stroevka in the Kharkiv region.

Russia did not carry out offensive operations in the Kupyansk direction. Air strikes were inflicted on the areas of the Gryanikovka and Olshana settlements. The settlements of Krasnoye Pervoye, Figolevka, Novomlinsk, Zapadnoye, Liman Pervyy, Berestovoye in the Kharkiv region and Novoselovskoe and Stelmakhovka in the Luhansk region were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Limansky direction during the day Russia conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the direction of Spirny. Then, it inflicted airstrikes on the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka in the Luhansk region, as well as Torskoe and Spirnoe in the Donetsk region. Stelmakhivka, Makeevka and Nevskoye in Luhansk region and Belogorovka and Spirnoye in Donetsk region were subjected to artillery shelling.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russia continues to conduct offensive operations. Fighting continues in the city of Bakhmut, the Russian soldiers fired at the city with incendiary and phosphorus ammunition. During the day, they conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the direction of the settlements of Khromovoe, Ivanovskoye, Chasov Yar and Stupochki. Air strikes were inflicted on areas of Bakhmut, Bogdanovka, Kurdyumovka and New York. Zheleznyanskoye, Orekhovo-Vasilyevka, Novomarkovo, Markovo, Bakhmut, Ivanovskoye, Chasov Yar, Stupochki, Aleksandro-Shultino and Leonidovka settlements of the Donetsk region suffered from Russian shelling.

In the Avdeevka direction, over the past day, Russia conducted offensive operations in the areas of Avdeevka and Pervomaisky but had no success. They then carried out shelling of the Keramik, Novokalinovo, Ocheretino, Berdichi, Avdeevka, Vodyanoye, Pervomayskoye, Nevelskoye, Netaylovo, Karlovka and Ostroye settlements of the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinsky direction, units of the Ukrainian defence forces repulsed numerous Russian attacks in the area of the city of Maryinka. At the same time, Krasnogorovka, Georgievka, Kurakhovo and Pobeda of the Donetsk region were subjected to shelling.

Russia did not carry out offensive operations in the Shakhtyorsk direction. It carried out shelling of the Novomikhailovka, Yekaterinovka, Elizavetovka, Ugledar, Pavlovka, Prechistovka, Zolotaya Niva, Novoukrainka, Miners and Velikaya Novoselka settlements of the Donetsk region.

On the Zaporozhye and Kherson directions, Russia continues to conduct defensive operations. It then inflicted airstrikes on the districts of Vremenka, Donetsk region and Gulyaipol and Novodanilovka, Zaporozhye region. Meanwhile, Russia shelled more than 50 settlements. Among them are Poltavka, Volshebnoye, Novoandreevka, Zaporozhye region; Zmievka, Pridneprovskoye, Romashkovo, Yantarnoye, Kizomys, Sofievka, Stanislav of the Kherson region and the city of Kherson.

Within the mentioned period, defence forces’ aviation carried out eight strikes against areas of concentration of Russian personnel and military equipment, as well as a strike against their antiaircraft missile system. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed two strikes and six reconnaissance UAVs of the opposite side.

In addition, units of missile troops and artillery struck two control points, two areas of concentration of the occupants' weapons and military equipment, as well as three Russian ammunition depots, the report says.
