Ukrainian diplomat accuses US of "destroying" world order together with adversaries
The former Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces has accused Washington of "destroying" the world order and doing it by working hand-in-hand with the "Axis of Evil."
General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, who is the current Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK, has delivered this criticism while speaking at a conference at Chatham House in London, Caliber.Az reports citing British media.
He told the audience that "it is not just the axis of evil and Russia trying to revise the world order, but the US is finally destroying this order." and stated that the talks between the US and Russia were indicative of the White House making "steps towards the Kremlin, trying to meet them halfway."
According to the general, it was obvious that the White House has "questioned the unity of the whole western world. And now Washington is trying to delegate the security issues to Europe without the participation of the US.”
His remarks come amid a tense time between the two countries, following the announcement of a temporary suspension of military and intelligence aid by Washington to Kyiv after a public feud between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the latter's visit to the Oval Office last week.
While a hotly disputed mineral deal was not signed during the visit as planned, the Ukrainian president has since expressed his readiness to do so though it remains unclear when and where the agreement will be signed.
