Ukrainian drones hit Novokuibyshevsk refinery in Russia's Samara VIDEO
Ukrainian forces have carried out a drone attack on Russia’s Samara region, targeting the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery.
This marks the third strike on the facility in the past two months, following previous attacks on October 19 and November 16, Caliber.Az reports per UNIAN.
The incident occurred amid heightened diplomatic activity in the Russia-Ukraine war, including U.S.-brokered talks in Geneva and Abu Dhabi aimed at advancing President Donald Trump's peace plan for ending Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, now in its fourth year.
Trump's plan, initially a 28-point framework leaked on November 20, 2025, seeks a rapid resolution through territorial freezes, Ukrainian neutrality, and phased sanctions relief. Developed with input from Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev, the draft drew heavy criticism for favouring Moscow as it included de facto recognition of annexed territories like Crimea and Donbas. Revisions in late November addressed Ukrainian and European concerns, narrowing it to 19 points and emphasising multilateral guarantees.
