Ukrainian forces disable Russian military ships in strategic Caspian operation PHOTO
Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces, in collaboration with the partisan movement “Chornaya Iskra” (“Black Spark”), executed a precision operation in the Caspian Sea, successfully striking two Russian vessels transporting weapons and military equipment.
According to a statement by Special Operations Forces, representatives of the partisan movement provided detailed intelligence on the ships’ routes and cargo, enabling the operation to be carried out effectively, Caliber.Az reports.
The strike targeted the vessels “Kompozitor Rakhmaninov” and “Askar-Saridzha” near the coast of Russia’s Republic of Kalmykia in the Caspian Sea. Both ships are reportedly used for Russian military purposes and are under US sanctions due to their involvement in transporting military cargo between Iran and Russia. The precise timing of the operation has not been disclosed.
This action follows a recent operation on December 10, when Ukrainian security forces disabled a Russian tanker from the so-called “shadow fleet” during a covert maritime mission in the Black Sea.
