Ukrainian intelligence: Russians hide missiles, Iranian drones at one of nuclear power plants
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry has said that the Russian military uses the territory of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant for the storage and maintenance of missiles.
The Russian military can also hide Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) there, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the Intelligence Directorate.
“The information has been received that the Russian military is using the territory of the Kursk nuclear power plant and related enterprises for the storage and maintenance of missiles,” the report says.
The Russian military has been transporting the S-300 complex missiles to the underground hangars of the Kursk Atomenergoremont enterprise near Ivanino village of Kursk Region over the past few weeks.
Several civilian trucks with Iranian license plates transporting unknown cargoes were noticed in these hangars in late October.
“The indicated high-risk facility, directly adjacent to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant (Kurchatov town), may be used by the Russian Armed Forces for military purposes,” the report says.
In particular, the issue is the secret placement and maintenance of ammunition for missile weapons and Iranian UAVs on the territory of the nuclear power plant.
“There may be Iranian ballistic missiles in these underground storages. This information should be carefully verified by representatives of the corresponding international organisations, first of all, by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA),” the report says.
