Ukrainian MiG-29 crashes while intercepting attack drones PHOTO

A Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet crashed during a combat sortie to intercept kamikaze drones in Ukraine’s Odesa region.

The incident occurred on August 10, the press service of Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation announced.

“During the active phase of the operation, an emergency situation occurred, as a result of which the aircraft caught fire, and the pilot lost control, but managed to eject. His life is not in danger,” the statement said.

Criminal proceedings have been opened over violations of flight rules or preparations for them, as well as aircraft operating rules, which resulted in a crash. The pretrial investigation is ongoing.
