Ukrainian official: Cemetery only thing uniting our country
The only thing currently uniting Ukraine is the cemetery, according to Oleksii Kuleba, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories.
In an interview with the European Parliament, he was asked what all Ukrainians have in common and later clarified that his remark referred to the differing experiences of people living in rear and frontline regions, highlighting how the war is felt differently depending on one’s location, Caliber.Az reports via UNIAN.
According to Kuleba, there is currently not a single community in the country without a cemetery flying the Ukrainian flag where a soldier is buried, and he stressed the importance of recognizing daily the sacrifice and the cost of Ukrainians’ struggle for their country.
