Ukrainian pensioner killed in attack on Kherson
A pensioner was killed in an attack on the Kherson region, according to Telegram channel ASTRA, citing local authorities.
The Kherson Regional State Administration said that a 68-year-old resident of the city sustained multiple shrapnel wounds and died on the spot.
The blast also damaged building façades and shattered windows.
Earlier, Russia launched a large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying 95 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and a single ballistic missile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
Preliminary assessments indicate that Ukrainian air defence systems successfully intercepted or electronically disrupted the missile and 81 of the UAVs over the country’s northern, central, and eastern regions.
Despite these measures, 14 strike drones breached defences and struck targets across eight locations. Debris from the intercepted aerial threats was also reported at five additional sites.
