17 September 2026 14:08

Ukraine has discussed with Slovenia the first results of the Drone Deal and potential joint defence projects, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated.

Following a meeting with Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tone Kajzer and Minister of Defence Valentin Hajdinjak, he said in a post on X that the countries are currently working on the Drone Deal, Caliber.Az reports.

“We discussed the first results and joint defense projects that we can implement,” Zelenskyy noted.

He said the talks also focused on Ukraine’s future as part of a united Europe, regional security and Russia’s ongoing attacks.

“We talked at length about Ukraine’s future as part of a united Europe, security in our region, and Russia’s constant attacks,” Zelenskyy added.

He also thanked Slovenia for its $50 million contribution to PURL and for its broader support for Ukraine.

“We are deeply grateful for this respect shown to all our people and to our warriors who gave their lives defending Ukraine and all of Europe. Today, together, we honored their memory with a moment of silence,” he stressed.

Tone Kajzer and Valentin Hajdinjak also met with the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha‎.
