Ukrainian president expects Trump to pressure Putin for peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking on Fox News, expressed hope that U.S. President Donald Trump will take active steps to end the hostilities in Ukraine.
According to Zelenskyy, he expects Trump to use his influence in the East to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin and achieve a resolution to the war.
Previously, Donald Trump expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin could settle the conflict in Ukraine. According to the U.S. president, he genuinely believes Putin would look excellent if he managed to resolve the situation.
The U.S. president also mentioned the possibility of supplying Kyiv with Tomahawk missiles if the conflict in Ukraine is not resolved. Trump said he could discuss this matter directly with Putin.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that the U.S. president has not yet made a decision regarding the supply of Tomahawk missiles. Zelenskyy is awaiting his American counterpart’s decision, while Kyiv, he noted, is “working” on the delivery of the missiles.
