Ukrainian president urges to promptly convene G7 meeting
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on the Western allies to urgently convene a G7 meeting.
The sides will discuss the massive shelling of Ukraine on October 10, Caliber.Az reports citing the Ukrainian president's message on Twitter.
"We agreed with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who chairs the G7, to convene an urgent meeting. I will deliver a speech about Russia's terrorist attacks. We also discussed the intensified pressure on Russia and assistance in restoring damaged infrastructure," President Zelenskyy tweeted.
He also had a conversation with French leader Emmanuel Macron.
"We discussed the strengthening of our air defence system, the need for a tough European and international reaction, intensified pressure on the Russian Federation," Zelenskyy said.
Head of the Ukrainian presidential office Andriy Yermak has said that the G7 meeting will be held on October 11.
Ukraine was subjected to one of the biggest massive attacks by Russia on October 10. Many cities, including Kyiv, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil and Zhytomyr, were shelled.
