Ukrainian security service detains Russian spy
During a special operation in the Zhytomyr region, the counterintelligence of the Ukrainian security service (SBU) during a special operation in the Zhytomyr region has detained a Russian intelligence agent who corrected the fire and planned to join the "firing groups" of Russian troops.
The traitor turned out to be a resident of Korosten, who previously worked at one of the strategically important factories, RBC-Ukraine reports referring to the Ukrainian security service.
He came to the attention of the Russian special services because of his pro-Russian position on social networks banned in Ukraine.
The SBU said that the traitor provided his Russian curator with data in the form of a map with reference to the location of military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and an enterprise producing defence products in the region.
The Russians planned to use the collected information to carry out massive missile strikes on strategically important infrastructure.
In addition, according to law enforcers, in the event of the occupation of the region, the Russian agent planned to join the ranks of the so-called "execution groups" to torture and kill local residents.
During searches at the place of residence of the detainee, the SBU seized the means of communication that he used to communicate with a representative of the military intelligence of Russia.
The traitor has already been informed of the suspicion of high treason committed under martial law. The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention. Now he faces 15 years in prison.
