Ukrainian Su-27 fighter jet crashes, killing pilot

A Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 fighter jet has crashed in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing its pilot, the country’s military confirmed.

The 39th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement that the aircraft went down while carrying out a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The pilot, 30-year-old Oleksandr Borovyk, died in the incident, Caliber.Az reports. 

Military officials said the causes and circumstances of the crash are under investigation but did not provide details on the exact location where the jet went down.
