Ukrainian troops move up almost 50 kilometres in Kharkiv Operational summary

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have moved forward almost 50 kilometres in the Kharkiv direction in three days following a successful counter-offensive.

The announcement came online by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the operational summary of hostilities on September 8, according to Ukrayinska Pravda.

“Over the past day, the enemy [Russia] launched 45 air and 5 missile strikes, including on the settlements of Kostyantynivka, Tsyrkuny, Radushne, and Kharkiv. There are civilian casualties.

In the border areas of Volyn and Polesia, on the territory of Belarus, military exercises began, during which it is planned to work out the issue of "liberation of the occupied territories." The threat of missile and air strikes on the territory of Ukraine from Belarus remains.

In the Sieversk direction, the intensity of shelling from the enemy has significantly decreased. In other directions, the enemy continued to fire on military and civilian targets of Ukraine, namely:

In the direction of Kharkiv, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Novopavlovsk, Zaporizhzhya, and Yuzhnobuzhsk direction – Russian troops were firing from cannon and rocket artillery.

The units of the Ukraine defence forces heroically hold their positions and do not allow the enemy to advance. Ukrainian defenders successfully repulsed the enemy offensive in the Donetsk direction.

The defence forces are conducting a successful counteroffensive in the Kharkiv direction. Thanks to skilful and well-coordinated actions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of the local population, advanced almost 50 kilometres in 3 days.

Rocket troops and artillery of the ground groupings of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to perform tasks of counter-battery combat, disruption of the command and control system and logistics and defeating enemy personnel and military equipment.

Over the past 24 hours, to support the actions of ground groups, the aircraft of the Defence Forces carried out more than 20 strikes: two platoon strongholds, 15 areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, and 3 anti-aircraft missile systems were hit.

Four UAVs and a Ka-52 helicopter were destroyed. The loss of enemy manpower is yet to be specified,” the summary briefed.
