Ukrainians spark outrage after riding sea turtle in Oman PHOTO/ VIDEO

Ukrainian nationals have come under criticism in Oman after they were filmed riding on a sea turtle, prompting a complaint from an Italian conservation organisation.

The behaviour was condemned by Biologicamente, an Italian conservation project, which said sea turtles should not be touched, let alone ridden, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media. 

According to the organisation, the Ukrainians were accompanied by volunteers involved in monitoring sea turtle nesting sites in Oman. Biologicamente said it had filed a complaint over the incident.

Following widespread criticism, Ukrainian fitness trainer Vadym Oleinik posted a video apologising for the incident.
