24 June 2024 09:57
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has pledged $25 million to bolster food security and critical infrastructure in Somalia.
This initiative, focused in Jowhar town in Somalia's Hirshabelle state, aims to support smallholder farmers by implementing climate-smart agricultural practices and enhancing flood protection and irrigation systems, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
The project is anticipated to significantly benefit local communities by improving water access for 370,000 people across five districts, while also mitigating flood risks and drought impacts for millions more.
