UN Secretary-General Guterres sends letter to Trump on World Post Day
UN Secretary-General António Guterres has sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump in recognition of World Post Day, highlighting the UN’s commitment to collaborating with the United States on peace initiatives.
According to UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric, the letter was sent within the past 36 to 40 hours and marks the annual celebration of October 9, a day dedicated to recognising the crucial role of postal networks in connecting countries and communities worldwide.
The correspondence comes amid ongoing discussions between the UN and the United States on various international peace efforts, underscoring the importance of cooperation between the two nations on global initiatives.
World Post Day, observed every year on October 9, aims to raise awareness of the vital role postal services play in supporting communication, trade, and international relations.
