UNICEF voices concern over strikes on Iran
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has expressed grave concern over recent strikes in Iran, including an attack on a girls’ primary school in Minab, highlighting the deadly risk posed to children.
“UNICEF is deeply concerned by reports of strikes in Iran and across the region, illustrating the grave danger for children. There are reports of schools being struck in Iran, including a girls’ school in Minab in Hormozgan province in southern Iran. Scores of students are reportedly killed and many others injured,” said UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric.
Iranian authorities reported that U.S. and Israeli forces struck the girls’ school on February 28. The latest figures indicate 165 people were killed—mostly students, along with parents and teachers—and 95 others were injured.
