Unidentified airstrike hits PMF site in Iraq’s Saladin province
An unidentified strike targeted a site linked to Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on the outskirts of the Amerli district in eastern Saladin province, local security sources said on April 7.
Authorities have not released details on casualties or the extent of damage. Security forces have increased their presence in the area and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the attack and identify those responsible, Caliber.Az reports per Iraq's media.
The strike comes amid ongoing regional tensions following the US-Israeli campaign against Iran, which began on February 28. Since then, PMF positions across Iraq have faced repeated attacks. According to a local source, previous US airstrikes targeting PMF units have killed 71 people and injured 196 others.
