United Arab Emirates bans Iranian vessels from its ports
04 August 2026 14:56
The United Arab Emirates has barred all Iranian vessels, including ships and boats, from entering the country's ports and berthing facilities in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran International reports.
The outlet said the ban took effect on July 31, with port and terminal authorities notified of the decision.
Iranian vessels that were already docked at UAE ports when the measure came into force were instructed to leave by August 3.
Navigation through the Strait of Hormuz has been restricted amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump confirmed that Washington and Tehran were discussing the full restoration of maritime traffic through the strategic waterway.
