11 March 2026 12:30
A bulk carrier became the third vessel targeted by a shell near the Strait of Hormuz in the morning of March 11, raising concerns over maritime safety in the strategic waterway.
The ship reported being hit by an “unknown projectile” while located 50 nautical miles northwest of Dubai, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said, Caliber.Az reports per US media.
The crew is safe, and no environmental damage has been reported.
Earlier incidents include a cargo ship that caught fire and was evacuated 11 nautical miles north of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, as well as another vessel off the UAE coast that sustained damage. Authorities continue to monitor the situation amid growing regional tensions.
