US Air Force deploys WarMatrix system for operational use
The United States Air Force has moved the WarMatrix system into operational deployment, Defense News reports.
The publication notes that WarMatrix is an “active wargaming environment” based on artificial intelligence (AI), which integrates existing models, data, and workflows, thereby accelerating analysis and decision-making. In particular, Defense News reports that such systems can generate simulations up to 10,000 times faster than real-time wargaming.
According to the report, WarMatrix was first used in military exercises on March 27. “The two-weekslong event, hosted at Systems Planning and Analysis in Alexandria, Virginia, was attended by more than 150 people, including technical experts, Air Force leadership and allied planners,” the publication said.
