US aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush set for Middle East deployment
The USS George H.W. Bush is expected to be deployed to the Middle East as tensions continue to rise amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, according to CNN, citing a source familiar with the matter.
The carrier is set to enter the area of responsibility of US Central Command, which oversees military operations across the region.
It remains unclear whether the USS George H.W. Bush will reinforce the two US aircraft carriers already operating in the region and engaged in recent military operations against Iran, or replace one of them.
The reported deployment comes as US President Donald Trump is weighing multiple military options that could further escalate the conflict. At the same time, Trump has said that diplomatic contacts with Iran are ongoing, although their status remains uncertain, according to CNN.
