US airstrikes on Yemen kill four, leave dozens injured in Sana'a, Hajjah

07 April 2025 10:00

On the night of April 7, United States military airstrikes on targets in Sana'a and the Hajjah province, including a location in the Shaab al-Hafa area, killed four people and left dozens injured.

Reports indicate that roughly half of the casualties were women and children, Caliber.Az reports per Yemeni media.

Additionally, the US air force reportedly hit a target in the Hajjah province, located in northwestern Yemen, causing significant damage. However, there have been no reports of casualties from that strike.

Earlier reports indicated that US air strikes killed at least two people and wounded nine in the Houthi stronghold of Saada. Footage showed a two-storey building collapsing following an air strike.

The latest wave of air strikes comes amid heightened tensions between the US and the Iran-aligned Houthi group. The Houthis had previously targeted Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea, citing solidarity with Palestinians during Israel's war in Gaza.

The US has intensified its air campaign, targeting Houthi forces in response to these maritime attacks. Since the resumption of air strikes last month, more than 200 attacks have been carried out, resulting in numerous civilian and military casualties. The White House confirmed that the strikes were part of a broader strategy to counter Houthi aggression.
