US allies call on EU to shape new global order after Trump policies
Several US allies, including Canada and the United Kingdom, have said the current system of international security and trade has effectively been undermined.
The countries called on Europe to take the lead in shaping a new global order, Bloomberg reports.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, speaking at a summit in Yerevan, said that the future architecture of international relations would be built in Europe.
Global leaders are also reassessing their ties with the United States amid the “America First” policy. Decisions by US President Donald Trump have increased tensions within traditional alliances, the report added.
The article also noted that a number of countries are seeking to strengthen coordination among themselves to counter US policies.
