US ambassador to UN: Iran “treats freedom of navigation like a doormat”
US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz has stated that freedom of navigation is a “core pillar of global peace and prosperity,” accusing Iran of obstructing commercial shipping in key maritime routes.
Waltz said the Iranian government was interfering with international waters and undermining maritime security, Caliber.Az reports, citing his X account.
Translation: The Iranian regime wants to mine an international waterway, attack commercial vessels, charge illegal tolls, block humanitarian aid, and then call America “politically motivated” for asking the UN to make them stop.

He added that freedom of navigation is essential for global stability, concluding that “Iran treats it like a doormat.”
