US announces another military aid package to Ukraine, including ammunition, drones
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced an additional $500 million in military aid to Ukraine.
"The US is providing another significant package of urgently needed weapons and equipment to our Ukrainian partners," Blinken said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
He explained that this additional aid is being provided as part of the drawdown of US Department of Defense stocks.
According to Blinken's statement, the new aid package includes ammunition for countering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), munitions for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155mm and 105mm artillery shells, high-speed anti-radiation missiles, drones, mine-resistant vehicles, high-mobility transport vehicles, light tactical vehicles, equipment for biological, chemical, radiological, and nuclear protection, Javelin missile systems, small arms ammunition, grenades, training equipment, as well as spare parts and support equipment.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously emphasised that the delivery of new weapons to Ukraine will not alter the situation on the front lines but will only lead to an extension of the conflict.
