A US appellate court has overturned the conviction of former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, the politician announced on the social media platform X.
“The truth always prevails and comes to light,” Hernandez commented.

Hernandez led Honduras from 2014 to 2022. In 2022, the former president was detained at the request of US authorities and extradited to the United States.
In 2024, a New York court found him guilty of facilitating the import of 400 tons of cocaine into the US and sentenced him to 45 years in prison. In December 2025, he was granted a pardon by Donald Trump.
