US approves sale of Javelin launchers, missiles to Poland

The U.S. State Department has approved a potential sale of Javelin anti-tank missile systems to the Government of Poland worth approximately $780 million.

The Polish government requested to purchase 2,506 FGM-148F Javelin missiles and 253 Javelin Lightweight Command Launch Units, Caliber.Az reports, citing the website of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

The package will also include the following auxiliary equipment and services:

• training simulation missiles;

• battery cooling units;

• tool kits;

• spare parts;

• training and technical assistance from the U.S. government and contractors;

• transportation and other elements of logistics and programme support.

The total estimated cost of the assistance amounts to $780 million.
