US approves transfer of 70 ATACMS missiles From Türkiye to Ukraine

The US State Department has notified Congress of its intention to authorize Türkiye to transfer 70 M39 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles from Turkish national stockpiles to Ukraine.

According to a document published in the Congressional Record on August 6, the same supply package includes 12 M270 MLRS launchers, around 2,500 M26 rockets with cluster warheads, and 47,000 artillery shells.

The department emphasized that the weapons will be provided to Kyiv on a non-reimbursable basis. Turkish companies MKE A.S., ASFAT and ARCA Savunma, Bulgarian firm VTIC International Ltd., and US contractors Pansophico and Patriot Defense Group are responsible for organizing the deal.
