US assures Israel of support in potential conflict with Lebanon
Top Israeli officials, including National Security Council head Tzachi Hanegbi and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, visited Washington this week for discussions on regional security.
According to Caliber.Az, a senior US administration official told a foreign media agency, that during these meetings, the administration committed to providing Israel with comprehensive support should a full-scale conflict erupt in the north.
The official reportedly stated that the US pledged to offer Israel any necessary assistance, including arms shipments. However, they clarified that they have no plans to deploy military forces to the region.
Throughout the discussions, Washington officials expressed concerns about Hezbollah potentially targeting Israel's air defence systems and undermining the effectiveness of the Iron Dome system.
