US awards Boeing $131 billion contract to support F-15 fleet

The U.S. Department of War on Monday, August 24, awarded Boeing a $131.23 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract to support the F-15 Eagle Crest program, which oversees the U.S. F-15 fighter aircraft fleet.

The contract covers aircraft production, systems integration, upgrades and sustainment, including new organic depot-level maintenance intended to keep F-15 aircraft mission-ready for the U.S. Air Force, Air National Guard and other Department of Defence customers.

Work will be carried out in St. Louis, Missouri, and is expected to continue through August 2037, according to the department.

The contract’s ordering period runs through August 24, 2031, with an option to extend the period through August 24, 2036.

The award also includes support for Foreign Military Sales involving Japan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia and Poland.

The contract was awarded to Boeing on a sole-source basis.
