Rally organisers: US braces for anti-Trump demonstrations
A broad coalition of activists and political opponents of US President Donald Trump has announced plans to stage nationwide protests on June 14, in what organisers describe as a collective stand against authoritarianism.
The demonstrations, organised under the banner “No Kings” are set to take place in cities and towns across the country, with gatherings expected at courthouses, public parks, and other civic spaces, Caliber.Az reports via rally organisers' website.
In a statement posted on their official website, the organisers described “No Kings” as a national day of resistance, stating that people across the country—from major cities to small towns, and from courthouses to public parks—would come together to oppose authoritarianism and demonstrate the true face of democracy to the world. The timing of the protests is no coincidence. June 14 marks Flag Day, President Trump’s birthday, and a planned military parade in Washington, D.C., celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US Army — an event that Trump is expected to headline.
