US congresswoman Nancy Mace responds to backlash over her tattoos

US Congresswoman Nancy Mace has responded to criticism of her arm tattoos, saying her arms should not be news; they have more important things to worry about.

Sharing a post on Instagram, the 48-year-old appeared in a black top, with minimal makeup and her hair pulled back, and numerous colourful tattoos on her arms were visible in the video, Caliber.Az reports.

“I think and pray for those who have been affected by my tattoos. I made a mistake today when I decided to open social media. Some of you have gone crazy. My arms should not be news. We have more important things to worry about,” she wrote.

The post received more than 79,000 likes.
