US defence bill proposes $400 million in Ukraine support for 2026, 2027
The US Department of Defense’s proposed budget includes $400 million in military support for Ukraine in both 2026 and 2027, according to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) published on the US Congress website.
Lawmakers in the House of Representatives are expected to begin voting on the legislation this week, Caliber.Az reports.
“For fiscal year 2026 – $400 million. For fiscal year 2027 – $400 million,” the document states.
The draft bill also requires the US Secretary of Defense to notify both the House and Senate of any temporary suspension or termination of intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
The NDAA for fiscal year 2026 — which began on October 1 — spans more than 3,000 pages. Under the proposal, the US defece budget would reach $901 billion, exceeding the Trump administration’s request by $8 billion. Key measures include a 3.8% increase in military salaries, expanded weapons production, and reforms to the Pentagon’s contracting system.
