US defence secretary vows no retreat in war against Iran
US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth declared the United States is prepared to take all necessary measures to achieve success in the war with Iran.
In an interview with CBS News, Hegseth stated that Iran will eventually have no choice but to surrender.
"There'll be a point where they'll have no choice but to do that. Whe-- whether they know it or not, they will be combat-ineffective. They will surrender. <...> This is only just the beginning,” he emphasised.
Hegseth stressed that the ability to operate over the top and engage military targets with more conventional munitions, including 500-pound, 1,000-pound, and 2,000-pound gravity bombs, has not yet been fully initiated.
He noted that the campaign will eventually demonstrate even more clearly how these objectives will be executed.
