US Development Finance Corporation eyes entry into Iraqi market
The US International Development Finance Corporation is ready to enter the Iraqi market through investment projects and to create opportunities for American businesses to participate in various sectors of the Iraqi economy, Benjamin Black, head of the agency, has stated.
During talks with the Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, he discussed opportunities to expand investment cooperation between Iraq and the United States, Caliber.Az reports, citing the PM’s Press Service.
It said the meeting with the American delegation focused on prospects for U.S. participation in infrastructure reconstruction projects and financing initiatives aimed at developing the Iraqi economy.
The two sides discussed cooperation in sectors including energy, transport, agriculture, the digital economy and services.
Al-Zaidi stressed the importance of US companies contributing to the transformation of Iraq's economy to accelerate the country's digital transition.
For his part, Black expressed DFC's readiness to enter the Iraqi market.
