US diplomat: Biden requests $37 billion for Ukraine
US President Joe Biden has asked Congress to approve additional assistance to Ukraine, the amount of which is $37 billion.
US Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland made the statement during the Kyiv Security Forum, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"Literally, only President Biden appealed to Congress for an additional $37 billion package so that Ukraine not only survived these tests, but also flourished as a sovereign, protected and democratic country, and Putin suffered a strategic defeat," Nuland said.
She stressed that attempts by the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, to commit conquest, war crimes and nuclear blackmail, as well as attempts to make hunger a weapon or freeze Ukrainians with the arrival of winter must be repulsed and defeated.
"If this does not happen, the world will become much more dangerous," Nuland said, stressing that the United States will help Ukraine as much as necessary.
The White House recently announced that it had asked the US Congress to approve the allocation of $37.7 billion for security and other assistance to Ukraine.
