US embassy in Jordan issues security alert following projectiles in airspace
The U.S. Embassy in Jordan issued a security alert on June 7 after receiving reports that missiles, drones or rockets had entered Jordanian airspace.
In the alert, the embassy advised U.S. citizens in the country to immediately seek shelter and remain in a safe location until further notice, Iran International reports.
No further details were provided regarding the origin of the reported projectiles or whether any threats had been intercepted.
Jordan has repeatedly found itself affected by regional military escalations due to its geographic location between several conflict zones. During previous confrontations involving Iran, Israel and Iran-backed groups, missiles and drones have crossed or entered Jordanian airspace, prompting security measures by the authorities.
