US embassy warns of imminent missile, drone threat in Saudi Arabia’s Dhahran
The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia has issued a security alert warning of a potential imminent missile and drone attack over the city of Dhahran, urging American citizens to take immediate shelter.
The embassy advised U.S. nationals not to travel to the U.S. Consulate, which is currently sheltering in place along with its staff. Residents are instructed to remain indoors, move to the lowest level of their home or building, stay away from windows and exterior walls, and close all doors, Caliber.Az reports per the embassy statement.
Anyone who hears loud explosions or warning sirens should seek cover immediately. Those caught outdoors are advised to move to a hardened structure if possible; if not, they should lie down and protect their heads.
The embassy cautioned that even if missiles or drones are intercepted, falling debris could still pose a serious risk. After an attack, residents should avoid debris and follow official guidance from major news outlets.
U.S. citizens in Dhahran are urged to remain vigilant and review personal security plans in case of further threats.
