US energy secretary: Iran conflict will end in coming weeks
The confrontation between the United States and Iran is expected to conclude in the coming weeks, according to the US energy chief, who also suggested that the standoff could end even sooner.
Speaking to ABC News, Chris Wright said his forecast would “definitely” come true and did not rule out an earlier resolution. He expressed confidence that once hostilities cease, disrupted supply chains that were affected by the Iranian crisis will begin to recover.
Wright also said gasoline prices are likely to fall in the coming weeks, although he noted that this cannot be guaranteed.
The broadcaster cited data from GasBuddy showing that as of the morning of March 15, the average gasoline price in the United States had risen by 76 cents per gallon (3.78 litres).
