US envoy hopes for peace in Ukraine, Middle East before end of Trump’s term
US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff has expressed optimism about resolving the conflict in Ukraine and achieving lasting peace in the Middle East before the end of Donald Trump’s presidential term.
He shared his views during an interview with Fox News on July 26, Caliber.Az reports.
Responding to a question about what he would consider a meaningful conclusion to his tenure as special envoy, Witkoff said that a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine would be a key milestone.
“If we solve the problems of Russia and Ukraine and conclude a peace agreement, because that's what needs to happen“, he replied. “If we expand the Abraham Accords, if we achieve lasting peace in Gaza, if we establish long-term peace in the Middle East, I think these will be the main achievements."
