US envoy meets Ukraine’s top security official in push for peace
During his visit to Kyiv, US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, met with Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s Security Council.
Kellogg shared details of the meeting on his social media page, Caliber.Az reports.
"America First diplomacy in action. Positive discussion with the Chief of National Security and Defence Council and lead negotiator Rustem Umerov on the efforts underway by the United States to stop the killing and forge an enduring peace between Russia and Ukraine. President Trump remains committed to delivering for the American people by securing peace abroad and stopping endless wars," he wrote.
Earlier on the same day, Kellogg also met with Ukrainian Minister of Veterans Affairs, Natalia Kalmykova.
Kellogg arrived in Kyiv on September 11 as part of an ongoing diplomatic mission aimed at advancing peace negotiations and strengthening US-Ukraine cooperation.
During his visit, he held high-level talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, covering a wide range of issues, including potential pathways to a peaceful resolution, security guarantees for Ukraine, and measures to increase pressure on Russia.
