US envoy to Israel urges Gulf states to "pick a side"
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has called on Gulf Arab states to choose between aligning with Israel or Iran.
Huckabee said Gulf countries should “pick a side” as rivalry between Israel and Iran continues to shape security dynamics across the Middle East, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
He further he claimed that if U.S. President Donald Trump were on the ballot in Israel, he would “probably get 95% of the vote,” adding that the remaining 5% were “in insane asylums and so they don’t count anyway.”
Huckabee also defended Israel’s military actions in Gaza, arguing that “the world can’t condemn Israel for doing what it didn’t have the courage to do, and that’s taking Hamas down.” He added: “You don’t send someone into the fire to put out the fire and then complain because they come out smelling like smoke.”
