US extends export restrictions for Russian airlines

The US Department of Commerce has extended export restrictions for Russian airlines Aeroflot, Utair and Azur air for 180 days.

US Assistant Secretary for Export Enforcement Matthew Axelrod said that he was granting requests to “extend the temporary denial order” in granting export privileges to three Russian airlines, TASS reports citing the US Department of Commerce’s notifications posted in the Federal Register, a collection of official documents of the US government.

The decision will take effect immediately and extend the restrictions for 180 days. Previously, they were extended on October 3, 2022 and March 29, 2023. The restrictions were made on April 7, 2022.
