US fighter jets intercept aircraft in restricted Ohio airspace

The North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) confirmed that its fighter jets intercepted an aircraft that entered restricted airspace over the US city of Geneva, Ohio, where President Donald Trump had earlier been present.

“NORAD F-16 aircraft intercepted a general aviation aircraft today that violated temporary flight restrictions over Geneva, OH,” the command said in a post on X.

The aircraft was safely escorted out of the restricted airspace, NORAD added.

Trump had earlier visited Ohio to attend youth sporting events held as part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States.
