US forces announce “full success” in Iran port blockade operation

The United States has claimed to have achieved full control over the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement from the US military command reported by CBS News.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that as early as Tuesday, April 14, the United States had allegedly “fully implemented” a blockade and restored control over the waters of the strategic strait.

Earlier, The New York Times, citing analysts, said that the US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz had failed. According to the report, several vessels, including ships previously docked in Iranian ports, successfully passed through the strait after the blockade on Iranian ports was introduced by the United States.
